We are working on using PRINT to create art. Print is a process for making text and images. They say that the earliest form of print was woodblock printing but we think that print has existed since people first made hand prints. Maybe that makes it the oldest type of art? Print can be really simple but it can also be as complex and complicated as you want - its all up to how you use it. We are goiing to experiment with lots of different types of print and then we are going to use this blog to record our work and how we feel about it.
Here goes!
Teacher: What do you know about print?"
Childrens Voices:
"We diid prints in second class with potatoes and fruit"
"You can do it really quickly, its easy. You can make wrapping paper with it for presents."
"Its good for decorating the outside of a picture like a frame."
"If you make something for printing with shapes or string or something you can keep it and use it again sometime."
"You can print the same design but use different colours each time, it can look really interesting"
"You can print one kind of print over another kind but sometimes to have to wait for it to dry and that's boring"
"You can print with a computer."
